This wine has aromas of tropical and citrus fruits that mingles with subtle toasty oak. Made in a richer style compared to our unoaked wine it has more palate weight and some creamy complexities from its time in oak. The result is a more textural wine that pairs very well with food, especially dishes from the Piedmontese region.
|Notes From The Winemaker:||A drier than normal winter in 2018 meant budburst happened a week earlier than usual. It was an extremely dry growing season which resulted in a lower yield but the smaller bunches had increased flavour concentration which is seen in the wines of this vintage. Add to this the dry summer across the eastern coastline of NSW, leaving the cool nights to help with a slow ripening period. This wine is produced with the fruit from our original Arneis vines on our Yaraandoo vineyard. It is partially barrel fermented in French oak which gives added richness and complexity to this rare Italian variety. This wine was fermented in stainless steel, one new hogshead and one 4 year old hogshead and matured for 10 months prior to bottling. A limited release vintage that can be set aside for a few years with confidence.|
