This wine has been selected from our best puncheons, fermenting and maturing for 9 months. It shows subtle oak, intertwined with white peach and citrus characters. The long, slow, ripening period, combined with our commitment to low cropping, hand pruning and hand picking, resulted in a premium wine that is subtle and elegant, with excellent fruit characters. A worthy addition to our Private Cellar Collection.
|Notes From The Winemaker:||An early budburst and early strong growth was followed by warm temperatures through late spring and early summer resulting in an excellent flowering and fruit set. A drier than usual Spring/Summer led to perfect ripening conditions post veraison, therefore disease pressures were low and excellent clean fruit was harvested across all varieties. The winter rains from 2015 ensured a healthy crop load with intense varietal character but with moderate acidity. A warmer than average summer translated to our fruit being ready 2 weeks earlier than usual. The fruit was harvested on the 9th March. After cold settling in tank the clear juice was racked straight to barrel where it fermented for 9 days.|
