Hilltops Riesling 2016

Grown in the the high-altitude, mineral rich soils of the Hilltops region on Australia’s Great Dividing range at elevations over and above 1699 ft. This wine is lean and elegant with sparkling yellow and green hues. The bouquet features intense lime with a hint of tropical aromas. The palate shows excellent depth of citrus and tropical fruit that is at once intense and delicate with balanced acidity and good length

Notes From The Winemaker: The fruit for this wine was grown especially for Tertini Wines in the Hilltops region of New South Wales. The vineyard is situated on a rolling hillside near Young at an altitude of 550m and has rich red volcanic soils. This vineyard has warmer days to ripen our Riesling and cool nights to ensure our fruit is grown with the richness, aromatic development and balance that this region is renowned for. An early budburst and early strong growth was followed by warm temperatures through late Spring and early Summer resulting in an excellent flowering and fruit set. A dryer than usual Spring/Summer led to perfect ripening conditions post veraison, therefore disease pressures were low and excellent clean fruit was harvested across all varieties. The winter rains from 2014 ensured a healthy crop load with intense varietal character but with moderate acidity.
