The wine is deep red in colour with black cherry, spices and forest floor aromas. Medium bodied with strawberry and cherry flavours. The flavours are backed by subtle spices and cedar from the carefully selected French oak barriques this wine was matured in. The wine has a silky texture and a lingering finish.
Eight percent whole bunches were included in the ferment and it was matured in French oak for 9 months. The final blend for this wine is 50% MV6 and 50% 115, the two clones we grow on Yaraandoo.
This is a premium blend for you to enjoy now, or with ageing in your cellar allowing the complexities to continue to improve this wine.
|Notes From The Winemaker:||Vintage Notes: The 2015 vintage started with an even budburst and early strong growth was followed by warm temperatures through November and December resulting in an excellent flowering and fruit set. A dry autumn led to perfect ripening conditions post veraison, with the wet humid conditions that adversely affected many of Australia's warm climate wine regions during veraison not appearing in the high altitudes of the Southern Highlands. Therefore disease pressures were low and excellent clean fruit was harvested across all varieties. The fruit was hand-harvested on the 24th and 28th March 2015 at 13.4 Baume.|
